So as bitter sweet as it is, we have made it to our last full weekend in Europe. The time really has flown unbelievably fast! But back in Paris about 55 out of the 73 of us on the trip decided to book a trip to Lagos, Portugal as our final send off with each other. We went through a program called Discover Sevilla, who really has the stuff together and puts your money where there mouth is! We chose to do it this way because, well none of us had to worry about planning with another company taking over for us! It was a stress free weekend with a lot of laughs bursting out everywhere! We left Friday morning straight from the Portuguese consulate in Sevilla and hopped on the bus for a 3 1/2 hour bus ride. Once we got on it was movies and music all the way there and almost immediately after we dropped off our stuff at the hotel (yes hotel not hostel!) we were carted off for our first activity, the sangria boat cruise! The boat cruise was so much fun, with unlimited sangria, music, and even a ride around in a smaller dingy through the beautiful coastal caves! Some braver souls even tried their hands at swimming in the frigid Atlantic because thankfully, although we were told it would rain all weekend, the weather gods were pretty good to us! My favorite part by far was the little boat excursion; the caves we went through each had been given names by sailors and had stories and were absolutely immaculate! The whole time I was filled with pride as Jackie braved the water fighting her sea sickness/fear of boats! After was time for relaxing, a little polar bear jumping into the freezing pool on the roof too! Later the DiscoverSevilla guys took us into the city center of Lagos (which fun fact is where Christiano Rinaldo is from..but I never found him) We went out to dinner at a great American Burger joint (which helps fix missin America a little bit) After it was off to experience some nightlife in the city which turned out to be a lot of fun with the whole group! The next day we started early back on the bus. This time they took us to the top of the caves we had seen the day before by boats. These cliffs were absolutely breathtaking! I definitely was wearing the wrong shoes but I still managed to climb up and down cliffs to discover tons of natural beauty! Then it was off to the beach! It wasn't much of a tanning day because the wind was a killer but soccer, football, volleyball, and frisbee games were all going on! After a 20 minute downpour cut our time a little short on the beach we headed back to the hotel. Later that evening it was back on the bus to "the end of the world!" We all hopped on the bus and went to cliffs that from all the eye can see is ocean and ocean and ocean! We were there to watch the sunset, and even with a little clouds in the sky it was still amazing! One of the DTW boys brought his guitar so this moment quickly turned into a sing-a-long kumbaya moment! Classics and freestyles were echoing over the cliffs but it wasn't until Green Day's "Time of Your Life" started that it sent some kids over the edge and made the reality of leaving hit all too hard. After that it was back to the city center for dinner and night time exploring. Our final time in Lagos was sent exploring the city center and stopping at the Cafe Odeon (best decision I've made in four months!) We had for the first time in months real breakfast! Eggs, bacon, pancakes, hash browns, milkshakes!! It really put a good taste in my mouth to go back to Sevilla with (pun intended!) But as I said it as bitter sweet as everyone started to get a little sad that after Portugal it meant we only had a few more days together to cherish and explore!

Now that everything is coming to an end its becoming very real that the people I've met are life long friends and this last week together is just going to tie the bonds that bind us together and these relationships I've made overseas will just keep growing once we all take over New York City as we Discover that part of the world together too!
